William Ross Earl is a creative writer, high school chorus and musical theatre director, professional vocalist, and avid hiker living in Knoxville Tennessee. His first writing came in the form of table-top role playing games in high school, but soon advanced to more traditional work with the completion of his first novel draft at the age of 19. Three more would follow alongside several short stories though he hasn’t forgotten his TTRPG background.
William believes the world is at its best when inspiring us to imagine new ones, and thus, he prefers the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres. He was a 2023 Finalist for the Scribes Prize by The Fairfield Scribes, and is currently seeking publication for several short stories and a young adult science fiction novel duology.
A 2020 graduate of Maryville College, William holds a bachelor’s in music education and has been teaching and directing since. He is also a composer and arranger of choral music, two of his pieces having been performed by ensembles in East Tennessee, one becoming a yearly mainstay for the Lads located in Maryville TN. He is active in the Knoxville writing community, a current member of the East Tennessee Creative Writer’s Alliance (ETCWA).
