The isles are a place of great contrast: ancient and recent, beauty and ferocity; mortal and immortal. They harbor a people who worship local deities, powerful gods who concern themselves with small regions rather than grand aspects of creation. Yet the folk of a distant, advanced continent have been colonizing their shores for a century, slowly diminishing the old ways and assimilating their culture into oblivion. The tales here focus on isle folk losing their traditions to changing times, on continentals seeking answers for a demonic plague ravaging their homeland, and the terrors awakened when change comes too swiftly to a land steeped in powers far older than any mortal could hope to fathom.
